Restore Your Smile's Functionality and Appearance with an Aesthetic Crown
In many cases, when a patient is struggling with decay, Dr. Vallone will offer care with tooth-colored fillings. But what about those times when a tooth is severely decayed, to the point that its structure is compromised? Or what if the tooth has become cracked, chipped, or damaged in some other way? In all these cases, Dr. Vallone can offer restorative care with an aesthetic crown.
What Is a Crown?
A single crown looks like a tooth and works like one as well. During your crown procedure, Dr. Vallone will cover your damaged tooth with a custom-made crown to restore its structure, strength, and functionality. What's more, because most crowns today are made from porcelain, you can also look forward to natural looking results. That's because porcelain reflects light the way natural enamel does. Once in place, no one will have to know that you had a tooth restored with an aesthetic crown.
What to Expect from Your Crown Procedure
Your procedure will take two visits to complete. In the first visit, Dr. Vallone will assess your needs and design your crown. As we put your design together, we will do it with your smile's appearance in mind. We want to create a restoration that complements the shade, shape, and size of surrounding teeth.
In between appointments, you'll wear a temporary crown to protect your tooth. Then, when your permanent crown is ready, you'll come back to our office to have it put in place. You can leave that day with your procedure complete, feeling a newfound sense of confidence as you go back to your regular schedule.
Caring for Your Crown
Once your crown is in place, caring for it is easy. Simply brush and floss around your crown exactly as you would with your natural tooth. By caring for your custom-made restorative crown properly, you can expect it to last for years to come.
